Does Trader Joe’s Sell Diapers? (Answered)

does trader joes sell diapers

A lot of people swear by Trader Joe’s. We don’t blame them. It is a fantastic grocery store. The only problem is that they don’t stock everything. So, let’s answer the big question; does Trader Joe’s stock diapers?

Trader Joe’s does not stock diapers. This is a grocery store that mostly deals with food and drink products. While they have some products outside of this, it isn’t diapers.

Let’s explain.

Who Are Trader Joe’s?

Trader Joe’s is a grocery store. However, anybody who has ever been there will know that this is not your typical grocery store. Trader Joe’s stores aren’t big and their product selection is very limited. In fact, you may not even find the standard products that you would normally find in a typical grocery store e.g. mayo.

So, why do people even bother to shop at Trader Joe’s? Well, a few reasons.

Firstly, Trader Joe’s is known for offering some of the best prices in the business while also offering high-quality products.

We love Trader Joe’s products and they really like to experiment with their flavors. There are some products available here for a few dollars that you would be paying many times more for at any other store.

In addition to this, Trader Joe’s offers the best refund policy out of all of the major grocery stores. Their refund policy is essentially ‘no questions asked’, as long as you don’t abuse the policy.

You can even return something after you have consumed it. This is fantastic. It means that you can try out products with little in the way of risk.

Availability of Diapers at Trader Joe’s

As we said, this is not your typical grocery store. Trader Joe’s is never going to have every product in stock. This is because they just don’t have the space for it. One of the products that you won’t find at Trader Joe’s will be diapers.

Part of the reason behind this is that diapers take up a lot of shelf space. This isn’t the type of product where you can stock just one brand and everybody is going to be happy.

People have different needs when it comes to diapers. Different sizes. Differences in absorbability, etc. Trader Joe’s would have to dedicate major sections of their store to these products. That is never going to happen.

If we had to guess, we would also say that Trader Joe’s probably can’t source diapers all that affordably. One of the aims of Trader Joe’s is to try and offer products much cheaper than the competition.

A lot of this is accomplished by branding their products with the Trader Joe’s logo. The only exception to this rule is the beer range.

This means that if Trader Joe’s is not able to source a product at a good price then it is never going to be brought into stock.

We doubt that Trader Joe’s will ever have diapers in stock.

Alternatives for Purchasing Diapers at Trader Joe’s

Thankfully, diapers are not really going to be that hard to find. No matter where your Trader Joe’s is located, we are virtually certain that there will be a place in the nearby area that sells them. Failing that, you can go to Walmart. If you are looking to buy for a cheap price in bulk then Costco is also going to be a good bet.

If you are after high quality diapers then we recommend that you look into a diaper subscription service. These services will deliver diapers to your door on a regular basis. You will never have to worry about tracking down quality diapers again!

If you don’t want to go to a major store (or get a subscription service), then you could also look online. Most major online stores (including Amazon) will probably have products in stock.

Considerations When Purchasing Diapers

There are a few things that you will need to consider when buying diapers.

In our opinion, you should always try to buy the best diapers that you can afford. This is because better quality diapers are much more absorbent and they are far less likely to cause irritation to the skin.

You should think about the size of your child. Most diapers will have an age range on them. Use this as guidance.

The age range will indicate the sort of size of a child that they will fit. They will also give you a rough idea of absorbability. The bigger the diaper, the more absorbent they are (as larger children tend to poop and pee much more).

If you can, we do recommend that you skip the idea of disposable diapers. They are incredibly expensive and they are not great for the environment.

More and more people nowadays are opting for cloth diapers. These are diapers that you just need to clean out. You can probably put them in with the rest of your laundry.

Each diaper can be used multiple times, so you probably just need a few to get your child through their years before potty training (assuming that you keep up with your laundry schedule, which we know can be hard if you have a baby).

The major advantage of cloth diapers is that they will eventually biodegrade. Disposable diapers are made of plastic. They just clog up landfills and they aren’t good for the environment. They will be polluting it long after all of us have gone.

Final Thoughts

Trader Joe’s does not sell diapers. It is unlikely that they will ever be introducing diapers into the stores. It is not in the Trader Joe’s business model.

Luckily, there are tons of places where you can get diapers. Many of the options will be close to Trader Joe’s. You can even look up diaper subscription services online.

If you want to save a bit of cash (and do your bit for the environment), then you may even want to consider going down the route of disposal diapers. These can easily be purchased online.
